Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the D6DB website (d6db.com), the D6DB iOS app, the D6DB Android app, and our Discord bot integration (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using D6DB, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Service

D6DB is a fan-made digital companion for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, 2nd Edition Revised & Expanded (West End Games D6 system). It provides character management, compendium browsing, campaign tracking, homebrew content creation, and related tools. D6DB is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Lucasfilm, Disney, or West End Games.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account using Google or Discord OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. User-Generated Content

You may create characters, homebrew items, campaign notes, articles, and other content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By publishing User Content (e.g., marking homebrew as public), you grant D6DB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the Services.

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, harassing, or defamatory. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

Star Wars and all related names, characters, and indicia are trademarks and/or copyrights of their respective owners. All game mechanics and reference data originate from West End Games publications. D6DB is a fan-made tool for personal, non-commercial use.

The D6DB platform (code, design, and original features) is the property of D6DB. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the platform without permission.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Services
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Services without permission
  • Upload malicious code or content
  • Impersonate another person or entity

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Sync and Data Loss

D6DB provides cross-platform sync between web, iOS, and Android. While we strive to keep your data safe, we do not guarantee against data loss. You are encouraged to export and back up your character data regularly.

9. Service Availability

D6DB is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time without notice.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at our discretion, with or without cause. You may delete your account at any time through the account settings.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, D6DB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
