The Barloz-class freighter, also known simply as the Barloz freighter, was a class of freighter manufactured by Corellian Engineering Corp During development of the YT-1000 light freighter, the YT-1000 was seen as the replacement for the Barloz freighter. Although Barloz freighters were popular with independent merchants and planetary defense forces, executives and designers of Corellian Engineering Corp had started to see the large, wedge-shaped Barloz freighter as “tired.”
