Background
Yané, originally known as Suyan Higin, was a human woman from the planet Naboo who served the Royal House of Naboo. Suyan worked as a weaver and was approached by Captain Quarsh Panaka of the Royal Naboo Security Forces while making blankets for a hospital. He recruited her to become one of the royal handmaidens in service of the newly elected Queen Padmé Amidala. After becoming a handmaiden, Suyan changed her name to Yané, along with the other handmaidens. When Amidala left Naboo for Coruscant, Yané, and Saché stayed behind to help with the resistance against the Trade Federation’s invasion and occupation.
