Astro-Traffic Controller

An Astro-Traffic Controller (ATC) was an individual in charge of directing starships to approved traffic patterns safely on and off planet. Expert traffic controllers were able to coordinate starfighter launches faster than automated launch systems. Typically the ATC would be located at a central starport location and would handle either inbound or outbound traffic to and from that starport. Other ATC’s would handle planetary inbound and outbound traffic toward the hyperspace lane. ATC’s would communicate to local customs when their services are required.
