The stars are as old as time itself. And between every sun and planet, as well as every rock and tree upon those planets, and energy - The Force - binds all life. In ancient times, the Jedi Order was founded, its members had a sensitivity to the Force and united to use this gift to benefit everyone.
By seeking out others like themselves in the known galaxy, the Jedi began a legacy as peacekeepers that lasted for thousands of years. But their reign was challenged by the Sith, a splinter sect that harnessed the power of the Force for nefarious deeds. And while the sides of light and dark battled, an alliance of planets formed to create the backbone of the original Republic.
The Jedi Order and the Republic experience a golden age of progress. The Jedi begin to turn their attention outward under the leadership of the High Council and masters like Yoda. This period of relative peace permits the Jedi to explore farther into the remote frontier, in a quest to forge a deeper connection to the Force and the galaxy.
Republic Chancellors Kyong Greylark and Orlen Mollo expand the Republic farther into the frontier, paving the way for visionary Chancellor Lina Doh, more than a century later, to embark on her Great Works to inspire galactic unity. Yet Republic growth brings it into conflict - be it The Path of the Open Hand or, a century and a half later, with merciless Nihil raiders and the carnivorous Drengir. Master Avar Kriss leads the Jedi in their quest to restore peace, but the Eye of the Nihil, Marchion Ro, aims to bring down the entire Order.
Fall of the Jedi
100 BBY to 19 BBY
The Republic appears at peace, defended by the Jedi Knights. But a hidden Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, is building power and plotting to destroy the Jedi. Led by Yoda, the Jedi have grown remote from those they serve, heedless of growing corruption and lawlessness - and blind to the plot against their Order.
Yet the age of heroes is not over yet. Jedi such as Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi remain faithful servants of the Republic, as do idealistic politicians such as Padme Adidala. And the Force is stirring. Anakin Skywalker is thought to be the Chosen One expected to bring balance to the Force, but his descent into darkness will help end both the Republic and the Jedi, creating a new galactic order.
Reign of the Empire
18 BBY to 1 BBY
Palpatine's plan to destroy the Jedi Order and seize power across the galaxy has succeeded. No the Emperor of the Galactic Empire, Palpatine continues his efforts to form Darth Vader into his loyal and worthy apprentice. The Jedi who survived Order 66 are in hiding, are on the run, or have been turned to the dark side to work as Jedi-hunting Inquisitors.
While crime syndicates grow in power, individuals like Saw Gerrera, Enfys Nest and Hera Syndulla lead groups willing to risk it all to fight for the freedom of others. As Palpatine's grip over the galaxy increases, rebels such as Jyn Erso, Ezra Bridger, Mon Mothma and Ahsoka Tano take stands against the Empire, refusing to give up the one thing that keeps them going... Hope...
Age of Rebellion
0 ABY to 5 ABY
It is a time of renewed hope, Luke Skywalker, a Tatooine farmhand yearning for adventure, rises to help the fledgling Rebel Alliance destroy the Death Star and score a major win against the evil Galactic Empire. Yet victory is fleeting, Palpatine and his apprentice Darth Vader will stop at nothing to crush the Alliance - Dispatching elite units, underworld criminals, and probe droids across the galaxy.
On the run, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and the rest of the Alliance embark on missions to disrupt the Imperial war machine and recruit allies to the Rebellion. Luke's personal quest to become a Jedi Knight leads to a final confrontation with Vader and the redemption of his father, Anakin Skywalker. But peace is elusive again, as Palpatine's apparent death triggers Operation: Cinder, ultimately leading Imperial and New Republic fleets to a mighty showdown at the Battle of Jakku.
The New Republic
6 ABY to 27 ABY
The Empire is toppled and peace seems to promise a bright future for the victorious New Republic. While Leia Organa settles into life as a politician, her twin brother, Luke Skywalker fulfills his destiny to uncover the secrets of the Jedi.
But in the Outer Rim, Imperial remnants continue to haunt the citizens of the galaxy and Snoke invades the mind of Ben Solo, twisting the young Jedi toward darkness. The lawless underworld thrives in the power vacuum as the fragile seeds of democracy begin to grow, and a Mandalorian named Din Djarin must reassess his outlook when he is hired to recover a foundling, Grogu, who desperately needs his protection.
Rise of the First Order
28 ABY to 35 ABY
The galaxy is at war once more. The New Republic has failed to counter the growing threat of the First Order. Supreme Leader Snoke and dark-side enforcer Kylo-Ren - formerly Ben Solo - wield impressive military might to bring democracy to its knees. Ashamed by his failure to help his nephew resist the lure of the dark side, the Jedi Master Luke Skywalker vanishes.
However, the disgraced senator Leia Organa, exposed as the secret daughter of Darth Vader, does not retreat. Retaking the mantle as general, Leia reignites the spark of rebellion to form the Resistance, recruiting the best New Republic pilots and spies to prevent a new Empire from taking hold. She must gather her oldest friends and strongest allies if there is hope of success - and a powerful new ally will indeed arise as the heir of the Jedi Legacy: Rey.
The New Jedi Order
36 ABY to 50 ABY
It is an unstable time in the Galaxy, the Jedi Order is being rebuilt, again. We can only hope that peace can be sustained.
